Full job description: Maintenance Worker

Zoni Maintenance worker is responsible for the effective cleaning and maintenance of the school and its hygiene. This team member performs manual work necessary to maintain cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and sanitation of Zoni at the location

• Operates vacuum cleaners, uses mops, brooms, brushes, soap, cleaning fluid, floor wax and other material related to building cleaning
• Picks up and empties waste and recycling receptacles
• Cleans, vents and screens, washes windows, trash cans, glass doors and equipment
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed
• Carpet cleaning and shampooing
• Carpentry repair/replace, damaged wood trim, make doors and windows operable
• Plumbing unclogs sinks, toilets, showers and tubs, repair/replace toilets/faucets
• Cleans drinking fountains
• Replaces various kinds of light bulbs etc.
• May occasionally transport and deliver supplies and other items
• Regularly inspects and maintains work areas
• Occasionally may perform brushing and painting
• Assist other staff and fill in for short term absences
• Performs minor mechanical work, fitting black/white boards and adjustments on all ground equipment
• Some travel required to different campuses in New York/New Jersey areas

In-person

Read and understand basic instructions
Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
Knowledge of handling basic equipment and take necessary precautions for safety
Awareness to prevent physical injuries
Must be able to lift up to a few pounds frequently and be able to carry across campuses using specified transportation

5-day week
Monday to Thursday
Saturday/Sunday

*Schedule is tentative, final hours will be discussed upon hire
